Pretty much since ancient times, humans have been speculating about how it's all gonna end. Spoiler: mostly pretty badly! Maybe the faithful get off scot-free, but boy, is everyone else screwed! History shows that apocalyptism tends to see an uptick in times of crisis. No wonder there were so many nuke movies during the Cold War.
If it doesn't revolve around a dwindling human population fending off hordes of zombies (or vampires, or whatever) it goes here. Nuclear war, pandemics, an invasion from space, hell, or elsewhere: it all goes here.
